Effective 2026-01-01Korea applies temporary 0% tariff on lithium battery materials
From 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2026, Korea applies temporary 0% MFN on key lithium-ion battery cathode materials (HS 2841.90, 2843.30) to support domestic battery industry.
Ministry of Economy and Finance enacted a 12-month temporary 0% MFN duty applicable to:
- Lithium-cobalt oxide, lithium-nickel-cobalt-manganese cathode materials
- Selected precursor materials
- Electrolyte additives (HS 3824.xx)
Importers must declare under the temporary HSK extension and may apply origin-neutral. The measure is renewable subject to MFN application audit.
